Polly Sack’R Hyde (#4)
What is your favorite part of playing roller derby?
The camaraderie amongst BRR and the entire sport. The vast majority of people I’ve encountered through roller derby are genuine, kind, and caring – and always have a fellow derby member’s back.
List any previous athletic or club experience.
I played field hockey and lacrosse and ran track & XC up through the end of high school.
What do you do when you are not skating?
Spend time with my fur children Riley and Riggins and continue my quest to pet ALL THE DOGS.
Advice for new skaters/young girls?
DON’T GIVE UP. Cliche as it sounds, persistence is key. Don’t compare yourself to others and go at your pace – it isn’t about how quickly you get there, it’s just that you do.
Your future derby goal?
Stop comparing myself to others 😉
Your most memorable derby moment?
Receiving my first MVP ever after I game where I felt strong about how I jammed…..and then having the coach of the opposing team, whom was an incredible skater herself, come up to me & tell me I should be really proud of how I played.
